Tardis

Because there is a lot more to blue telephone boxes than what you see

Who else is a Whovian here?

The Woman at the Bar

This warm up piece was inspired by one of Fabien Perez's paintings.
Just wanted to see how the artwork would translate to my style of comic art

P.S: A few new mini-comics have been added to my Sequential Art Blog

September 2015 - The Art Drop Month

Friends and fellow artists- especially Rosh and my wife Merryn - had repeatedly hinted that I should be getting ready for The World Art Drop Day which fell on 2nd September this year. When the day finally arrived, all I had was a silly excuse that I've been busy with umpteen other things and hence had absolutely zilch to offer. I did not sleep easy that night. The next day, I woke up determined to make up for the lapse on my part. And this is what followed...

Black Mumba - Teaser

A lot has happened this year that I haven't chronicled in this blog. So it is only fair that I share these three pages from the project I'm currently working on. Ram V and I had done a shorter version of this story last year and it appeared in an anthology from Sawdust press called Blood Root. This time around we have many more pages to play with. I don't think I'll be sharing any more artwork from this project before its release. But I do intend to put up all the original artwork (except the ones that contain spoilers) and a limited number of reprints for sale once the book is out. You can read more about this project on the page --> Black Mumba

Workstation

One of the best things in this world is the feeling you get when you've successfully completed a project. Did the last set of pages of a short comic today. I'll be putting up all the original artwork for sale once the work has been published. More details on that later. For now, here's a sneak peek.

May be deep down you have a human soul... or may be I'm just an embodied informational pattern

Sneak Peek

Discarded panel from a Comic I'm doing with Syenagiri. The script written by V.Starovoit and J. Undurti is by far one of the most complex and layered ones that I've come across till date. The project has been challenging, and thoroughly enjoyable so far. Watch this space for more updates

Dead Rain

Sneak peek into an ongoing Graphic Novel project with Ram.V . Have a good day, folks!
- Kish

Yup, as you may have noticed, I have been steering clear of digital art of late. I seem to derive a lot more pleasure from actually getting my hands dirty

Go Dubai!

This is part of an artwork I did a few months back for an International Literature Fest in Dubai. Boy, was I glad to see the name of so many graphic novelists on it! The medium of sequential art is finally going main stream in Dubai! :)

Pthbbbt!!!

Ah well.... as far as style explorations go, this too happened in November 2014. I also got a little married, which in itself is a major change in 'style' ;) . And yes, that's the wife going 'pthbbbbt' right there!

The Other Woman

When you keep doing something for long enough, especially artwise, you end up developing and being stuck with a form of expression that you proudly call your 'style' . But just as it is with actors, this restricts you when it comes to handling different genres. Of late I've been jumping at any chance I get to break free from my comfort zone. Here's something I did last year as part of a series of development sketches for a form of expression quite unlike the one I've been using on a regular basis. I eventually used the style in a comic that you can read HERE. It's called 33, and is written by Jai Undurti. I also got to pay a humble tribute to the legendary R. K. Laxman in the comic

Kokaachi

Here's something from a fun project I did with Studio Kokaachi.
